The Curtis, a pop-culture-inspired hotel in downtown Denver, is finishing up a multimillion-dollar renovation. The project at the Doubletree by Hilton property has redesigned its 15 themed floors, including all guest rooms and suites, as well as the 27,826 square feet of meeting and event space, aiming to infuse the property with vibrant art, as well as "playful nostalgia and a dose of whimsical rebellion."
Guests will be able to choose from various themed floors such as Camp Curtis, Play With Your Food and Life of the Party. The hotel's 13th floor is aptly named Knock on Wood.
“This renovation is all about creative exploration,” said Lizzie Raudenbush, general manager at the Curtis. “We’re infusing every corner of the Curtis with new energy and interactive elements, so guests visiting from near and far are comfortable to express their quirky, unfiltered selves, and leave with a smile and a story to tell. Each of the 13 hyperthemed guest floors has its own immersive feel, crafted to spark memories and create new ones.”
Redesigning the themes
The vision for this reimagination was created by Sage Studio, Sage Hospitality Group’s in-house creative team, whose leadership ensures that the Curtis continues to deliver on the property’s commitment to keeping Denver happy.
As the elevator doors open on each themed floor, guests are greeted by a vibrant landing that sets the stage with décor and details. Guests can also expect every room to feature curated artwork, clothing items and interactive games to reflect the overarching theme of the floor. The accompanying suites will take each floor's motif to the next level with even more over-the-top décor.
For example, when staying on the Camp Curtis floor, the look is the nostalgic charm of a favorite sleepaway camp, with wood-grain accents, cozy plaid details and faux animal heads along the walls. The floor's signature suite features a ceiling covered with glow-in-the-dark stars to mimic the night sky, creating an outdoorsy atmosphere that invokes summertime magic.
Bucking the “boring boardroom” stereotype
The lively facelift of the hotel’s meeting and event spaces has been completed, and aims to cater to creative thinkers and business leaders who believe meetings should be as exciting as they are productive. The revamped spaces and décor have been covered in quirky candy stripes and colorful patterns on the walls and carpet. Color blocking, patterns and textures have been used in the corridors, meeting rooms and ballroom.
The property's eatery, The Corner Office, is a retro-style restaurant serving a contemporary and regional American tapas menu.
