Renovations have wrapped up at the 241-room Hilton Galveston Island Resort. The multimillion-dollar project touched every aspect of the property, adding modern upgrades and nods to Galveston’s coastal history.
“This transformation is a testament to our dedication to providing an unparalleled guest experience,” said Jeremy Bukac, general manager of the resort. “These renovations mark a new era for the resort, blending contemporary amenities with the coastal charm our guests are known to love.”
Beach vibes in the guest rooms
The renovated rooms have all-new furniture, with most king rooms now featuring full-size sleeper sofas. Other upgrades include enhanced lighting, makeup vanities, tile flooring and walk-in showers. Many rooms now have larger windows for better views of the Gulf of Mexico and to bring in more natural light.
Hilton’s Connected Room technology has been installed, allowing guests to stream their favorite entertainment from their devices to the in-room TVs. Throughout the hotel, the artwork showcase the island’s charm, with prints of fishing piers, lifeguard stands and a variety of seawall locations, most notably the Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier.
Meeting space upgrades
Modernization was the goal of the meeting space refresh. Both the 1,380-square-foot Oasis and the 3,500-square-foot Oceanfront ballrooms feature new carpets, chandeliers and wall coverings, plus enhanced lighting, upgraded chairs and faster internet connections. The 900-square-foot prefunction space adjacent to the Oceanfront Ballroom now is equipped with an 85-inch monitor with full A/V capabilities, modular seating and a serving island that can be moved around to fit the event.
The Hilton Galveston Island Resort features a total of 66,796 square feet of meeting space, including a 43,500-square-foot exhibit hall and the 15,600-square-foot Grand Ballroom.

Food-and-beverage changes include the introduction of the 5400 Bistro, an industrial-port-inspired space that offers a menu of "casual yet elevated" dishes combining international flavors and fresh local ingredients. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, including specialties such as the Southern fried shrimp and avocado basket, crab cake eggs Benedict, the flat-iron steak with chimichurri, craft burgers and more.
The expanded lobby bar spans 1,600 square feet, accommodating up to 60 guests with views of the pool and the gulf beyond through floor-to-ceiling windows. By day, the bar serves Starbucks beverages, and by night, it transforms into a lounge featuring specialty cocktails, a curated wine list and local craft beers.
The resort’s pool area has been upgraded to feature new cabanas, fire pits, oversized umbrellas and expanded seating, and the fan-favorite swim-up bar remains.
The fitness center now sports state-of-the-art equipment, such as a Peloton bike, Life Fitness machines, free weights and an amenities station offering chilled towels and bottled water.
