The Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego, one of Southern California's largest hotels, has debuted the first phase of a major propertywide renovation, in the form of the reimagined deluxe guest rooms in the Seaport Tower. The full project will finish by the end of 2026.

When complete, all 1,628 guest rooms will have been updated, as will the hotel's more than 320,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, multiple dining venues, the sports court, and the two rooftop pool decks.

"Unveiling our first collection of completely transformed accommodations marks an exciting moment in the hotel's evolution," said area vice president and hotel general manager Dena Roady. "The newly redesigned deluxe rooms showcase our substantial investment in this comprehensive renovation, reflecting San Diego's nautical heritage and coastal beauty while delivering the sophisticated experience our discerning guests expect.”

Guest room transformation

All rooms in the Seaport Tower should be complete by the end of the year, with the redesigned Harbor Tower rooms coming online in summer 2026. The new design will draw inspiration from the rich wood of classic yachts and blue hues to match the waters of the bay.

Redesigned meeting and event spaces

The hotel's extensive meeting space will be redone with a sophisticated seaside theme for the Harbor and Seaport Ballrooms, along with upgraded technology, such as more robust Wi-Fi and integrated A/V systems. Prefunction and breakout spaces will be outfitted with new carpeting and lighting that reflect the seaside theme, and new outdoor terraces will provide panoramic views of the bay.

Reimagined F&B venues

The signature restaurant, Sally's, already has debuted following a refresh. The open-air, waterfront design complements a Baja-Mediterranean-inspired menu from chef Alvaro Garcia. Top of the Hyatt, on the hotel's 40th floor, will close later this year, reopening in early 2026, continuing its tradition as a high-end destination for cocktails. As for the other venues, Market | One will expand its retail selection, and the Seaview Restaurant will be offering a new, upgraded breakfast experience.

Renovated recreation spots

The two rooftop pool decks will be redesigned, offering a new perspective on the harbor and city skyline, while a full-service adult pool with a bar serving craft cocktails will debut on the third floor next winter. A reimagined family pool will open on the fourth floor by the end of 2026. Updates to the sports courts and the fitness center will be complete by mid-2026.
