Field & Stream Lodge Co. has opened its first property, in Bozeman, Mont., featuring 179 rooms and more than 6,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.
The new hotel brand espouses the outdoor philosophy of the clothing brand that was founded in 1871, which was followed about 20 years later by the magazine of the same name. (In the magazine in 1904, President Theodore Roosevelt argued for conserving the wilderness for future generations.) Field & Stream Bozeman, a mile from downtown Bozeman, aims to be a jumping off spot for exploring some of Montana’s most visited destinations, including Bridger Bowl, Big Sky Resort, Yellowstone National Park, and the Madison, Gallatin and Yellowstone Rivers. Nearby activities include skiing, hiking, fly fishing and hunting.
"Field & Stream Bozeman celebrates the brand’s rich history while introducing modern comforts and a focus on great American hospitality," said Bill Cottrill, general manager of the hotel. "The Lodge provides a true sense of place for travelers looking to immerse themselves in the spirit of Big Sky Country."
Lodge-style accommodations
The 179 rooms and suites range from Mountain Kings and Bunk Rooms to Camper Connecting Suites, each featuring a dedicated workspace, peg-board storage, a mini fridge and wool camp blankets. Some accommodations include a sleeper sofa.
Gathering and event spaces
Throughout the lodge, interiors combine vintage and custom-upholstered furnishings with locally inspired décor and ephemera influenced by the Field & Stream archives. At the heart of the lodge is the Great Room, anchored by a towering stone fireplace, communal seating and board games — all beneath a vintage canoe suspended from the ceiling.
Guests can unwind in the indoor pool and hot tub, where Adirondak chairs, plaid-adorned loungers and decorative snowshoes surround a Bridger Bowl mural that celebrates local heritage. The property also has an outdoor hot tub.
The 29,000-square-foot backyard features a landscaped courtyard with canoe-shaped fire pits, log seating and tent-like canvas umbrellas. For groups, the lodge provides a variety of offerings, from the 3,800 square feet of private meeting space to full-property buyouts.
The Supply Shop provides adventure-ready items, such as sundries, souvenirs and outdoor essentials.
